Crazy Blind Heart [1]

The heart is crazy blind, walking us off cliffs,
in front of buses, into volcanoes, to witches
houses in the woods, and wolf dens... also
bursting us into a zillion
pieces of bright, burning magnesium --
unquenchable, so that we all might see
if only for a bit, in dark places

I saw you growing up in those

I'd give you a parachute, but you might need to fall.
I'd take the hit of the bus for you.
I'd sew you up a fireproof suit, but burning away might be right.
Or a little red hoody to hide you away

No matter what you want, you're going to burst, bright as the sun
And I hope I'm around to feel it
Cuz we could all use a little warmth right now
And you're the one who can give it

I saw you growing up all by yourself
Gathering in the dust and debris
Inviting stones and comets to fly on in
Like saying, right here! come on!
Light this shit up right in your arms

And I thought on this rocky wheel that pulls
down watery comets all dirty with life
how warm I can be with you out there
floating in this dark sea, caught in circles
cuz you're the reason morning comes
even when there is no air
